Thank you for your interest in guest blogging on NavigatingHealthcare.ca. We welcome contributions that align with our content and provide value to readers. Please review the following policy and procedure guidelines:

Guest Blogging Policy

1. Content Relevance: Guest blog posts must be relevant to Canadian patients and care partners and align with the themes and topics covered on our platform. These include topics such as:
   • The ‘New Work‘ of patients and care partners,
   • How-to navigation ideas and tips,
   • Patient advocacy,
   • Patient safety, as well as
   • Social issues experienced by those with complex/chronic illness and their care partners/family/friends.
2. Originality: All submissions must be original content created by the author. Plagiarism or the use of content that has been published elsewhere will not be accepted.
3. Quality: We maintain high editorial standards and expect guest bloggers to adhere to them. Content should be well-written, informative, engaging, and free from grammatical errors. We use the Yoast SEO and Monster Insights plugins to structure and assess blog post and page content prior to publishing.
4. No Promotional Content: Guest blog posts should not be promotional or overly self-serving. While we allow authors to include a brief bio and link to their website or social media profiles, the main focus should be on providing valuable information to Canadian patients and care partners.
5. Non-Commercial: We do not accept guest posts that are intended solely for commercial purposes, such as promoting products or services.
6. Legal Compliance: Guest bloggers are responsible for ensuring that their content complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including copyright and defamation laws.

Procedure

1. Submission: Prospective guest bloggers can submit article ideas or completed drafts to our editorial team (Beth!) for review. Submissions can be sent via email to Beth@NavigatingHealthcare.ca.
2. Review Process: Our editorial team will review submissions to ensure they meet our content standards and align with our audience’s interests. Authors will be notified of the status of their submission within 14 days.
3. Editing: If necessary, our editorial team may provide feedback and edits to guest blog posts to ensure they meet our quality standards. Authors will have the opportunity to review and approve any edits before publication.
4. Publication: Once a guest blog post has been approved, it will be scheduled for publication on our platform. Authors will be notified of the publication date.
5. Promotion: We encourage guest bloggers to promote their published posts on their own social media channels and networks to maximize visibility and engagement.
6. Rights: By submitting a guest blog post, authors grant NavigatingHealthcare.ca the non-exclusive right to publish, edit, and promote the content on our platform. Authors retain ownership of their work and may republish it elsewhere after a reasonable period, provided proper attribution is given to this website.
